Ramadan Bedding Stocking Calendar

Gulf bedding demand is seasonal in a way that surprises first-time buyers: the peak is set by Ramadan, and the ordering window closes far earlier than most procurement teams plan for.

Why the window is longer than it looks

The buying peak sits in the weeks before Ramadan, when households replace bedding and retailers reset their floors. Working backwards from that date:

  • Retail floor reset — 2 to 3 weeks before Ramadan. Goods must be in the warehouse by then.
  • Ocean transit from Shanghai or Ningbo to Jebel Ali — 18 to 24 days. To Dammam or Jeddah, add roughly a week and allow for the longer customs clearance in Saudi Arabia.
  • Production — 25 to 35 days after deposit, longer at the seasonal peak when every factory in Nantong is full.
  • Sampling and approval, if it is a new design — 7 to 10 days, twice if the colour needs correcting.

Add it up and the order needs to be placed roughly 11 to 13 weeks before Ramadan — not the 6 to 8 weeks that a domestic buying cycle would suggest.

The peak fills up from the inside

The constraint is not our capacity in the abstract, it is the queue. Seasonal demand concentrates into a six-week production window, and orders are scheduled in the sequence deposits arrive. A specification approved in week ten does not jump the queue in week fourteen.

What we recommend

  • Book the production slot with the deposit, not with the enquiry. The slot is the scarce thing.
  • Approve colours and artwork early — most delays at the peak trace back to a label or pantone approval, not to sewing.
  • Split the shipment if you can. An early partial shipment gets goods on the floor for the start of the peak; the balance follows without risking the whole order.
  • Consider a second, non-Ramadan order for the shoulder season. It smooths your cost and gives you a second position in the queue.

If you are planning for this season

Tell us your target on-floor date and we will work backwards to the deposit date and confirm the production window before you commit. We would rather tell you a date is tight now than explain a delay in week twelve.
