What happens between your order and your warehouse

Most of what goes wrong in a bedding import is not the product — it is the paperwork and the timing. We handle our own export documentation, so one team owns both. Here is exactly how it works.

Trade terms, and which one to pick

FOB

Free On Board. We deliver to the named port and clear export. You arrange and pay the ocean leg and destination clearance. The most common choice for buyers who already have a forwarder.

CFR

Cost and Freight. We arrange and pay the ocean freight to your named destination port. You handle destination clearance. Useful when you want our freight rate rather than your own.

CIF

Cost, Insurance and Freight. As CFR, plus marine insurance to the destination port. Often requested for first shipments.

EXW

Ex Works. You collect from our premises. Rarely the cheapest once you account for the inland leg and export clearance, but occasionally wanted for consolidation.

The document set, and who produces it

Every consignment carries the same core set. We prepare all of these in-house on Gulf, EU and US-bound orders — we do not hand the paperwork to a forwarder and hope.

Commercial invoiceRaised by us, matching the purchase order line for line.
Packing listCarton count, dimensions, weights, and contents per carton.
Bill of ladingIssued by the carrier; we arrange it and provide the copy for your balance payment.
Certificate of originWhere the destination requires it, or where a preferential rate applies.
Conformity documentsSASO / SABER for Saudi Arabia, and test reports for the specific fabric on request.
Care labellingFibre composition and origin, in the language set your market requires.

Where the calendar actually goes

Sampling

7–14 days for a physical sample; 3–5 days for a colour swatch.

Production

25–35 days from deposit receipt, depending on quantity. Peak season adds to this — book early.

Inland and loading

3–5 days from factory to the port and onto the vessel.

Ocean freight

Gulf 18–28 days · Europe 30–38 days · US West Coast 16–24 days. These move; confirm at booking.

Destination clearance

2–7 days, and this is the one most affected by document accuracy — see below.

The one thing that most often goes wrong

Destination customs matches documents by product name. If the invoice says 'brushed microfiber pillowcase', the packing list says 'pillowcase set' and the test report says 'bedding item', you have created a hold before the container even arrives.

  • 01

One product name, used identically across every document on the consignment.

  • 02

One spec sheet, agreed before production, referenced by all parties.

  • 03

We keep a document set from your previous order as the template for the next, so names do not drift over time.

  • 04

If you use your own forwarder, we send them the same naming sheet we use, so both sides match.

Send us a destination port and a product, and we will quote the landed picture.

We will tell you the FOB price, the freight estimate to your port, and what documentation your market needs — before you commit to anything.
